Are Naples Beaches Private?

The city's most popular beaches, such as those around Naples Pier, are publicly owned, but much of the dry sands in other parts of the city are privately owned, as the property lines extend to the beach. Those landlords can legally keep sunbathers or picnics out of the dry part of the beach.

The owner of a property can own any shore beach on the waterline. The dry sand that is mainly used for sunbathing, picnics and sports is located in the private area.

This Collier County beach at the northern end of Naples is a favorite of beach walkers because of its firm sand. That's true not just at The Ritz, but from Clam Pass north past Delnor-Wiggins State Park and up to Barefoot Beach and the Lee County line.
